Job summary

Jacobs in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer in the Electronics business unit to work on projects that support HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. You will develop drawings, perform calculations, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while gaining exposure to client expectations, scope, budget and schedule.

The role is hybrid, requiring 2–3 days in the office per week, with potential site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Ability to report a minimum of twice per week to the local office.
• Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit or other 3D modeling tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs and properly documents/annotates engineering calculations.
• Develop drawings for equipment layouts and facility systems and interconnects.
• Selects equipment using standard sizing guidelines and specifications.
• Develops clear understanding and documents scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Develops communication and presentation skills, coordinates information flow within design team and across the disciplines.
• Assists with project delivery tasks including client issue tracking, change control, and responding to contractor questions and equipment submittals.
