Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. seeks an Systems Support Specialist II to provide hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, phones, and peripherals in a manufacturing environment.

The role involves assisting with server hardware, OS, and network infrastructure, with escalation to senior technicians as needed. On-site at the Trenton, South Carolina facility, the position requires strong problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration with the IT department.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
• MCSE, MCTS, CNA/Avaya telephony or ITIL certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support by installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading laptops, desktops, phones, printers, bar code scanners and peripherals in an office and manufacturing environment.
• Assist higher level support with local server hardware, operating systems, network infrastructure and telephony; resolve incidents with customers via phone or virtual support.
• Create documentation on resolved issues, root cause analysis and troubleshooting steps.
• Assist in implementing business systems and manufacturing initiatives with end-user desktop support and usage guidance.
• Perform system upgrades and migrate users to new applications; ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.
• Maintain asset inventory and support incident resolution through the ticket queue.
