Job summary

South Dakota State University (SDState) invites qualified candidates for an IT Support Desk role on the Brookings Main Campus, providing desktop, laptop, Mac and Windows support to faculty, staff and students.

The position offers learning opportunities to grow technical skills, a comprehensive benefits package, and relocation assistance per university guidelines. Authorization to work in the U.S. is required; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

Knowledge of a wide variety of computer software, hardware, telephony and peripherals.
Familiarity with university IT security standards and applying them in support processes.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to assist users with varying technical understanding.
In-depth hardware and software troubleshooting.
Experience installing operating systems and software.
Awareness of ITIL/ITSM concepts and best practices.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for faculty, staff, and students.
Support desktop and laptop computers (Mac and Windows).
Deliver a wide range of computer, client, and network support to ensure proper installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
