Job summary

The University of South Dakota is seeking an IT Engineer to install, program, test, and maintain campus infrastructure systems in Vermillion, SD. The role includes on-call responsibilities and working with a range of network, security, storage, virtualization, cloud, and service platforms.

The successful candidate will support hardware and software needs, work with vendors on solutions, and help enhance campus infrastructure and resources. This is a 100% full-time, on-campus position.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting IT infrastructure hardware/software.
• Ability to document infrastructure configurations clearly.
• Knowledge of cloud services and security basics.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Daily service requests and break/fix work.
• Ensure clear documentation for all infrastructure services.
• Monitor performance and availability of infrastructure systems.
• Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software.
• Document test plans and outcomes of changes.
