Job summary
Everforth Apex Systems seeks an experienced IT Desktop Support Specialist to install, maintain and troubleshoot desktop computers, peripherals, software and related systems.
You will resolve hardware, software and permissions issues in a managed Windows/Mac/Linux environment, with 3–6 years of relevant experience and a BS degree in computer science or equivalent. This on-site role is based in Arlington, VA.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting Windows XP/7 and Server operating systems in a managed desktop environment.
- Mac OS X (10.4+ desirable).
- Basic working knowledge of Linux/UNIX (Red Hat preferable).
- Solid knowledge of networks including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Windows Server networking.
- BS Degree in computer science or combination of education and relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot desktop computers, peripherals, software and related systems.
- Resolve hardware, software and user permission issues promptly.
- Support Windows XP/7 and Server OS in a managed desktop environment.
- Support Macintosh OS X (10.4+) desirable.
- Basic Linux/UNIX user knowledge (Red Hat preferred).
- Elevate networking knowledge including Ethernet, TCP/IP, Windows Server networking.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain customer focus and be proactive.
- Must lift up to 50 lbs.
