Cardinal Health, Inc. is seeking a Director of Technology Strategy & Execution (IT PMO) to shape the portfolio, maximize strategic value, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

This role evolves the PMO into a strategic partner that safeguards business investments. The position requires senior leadership experience, strong governance, and experience with strategic capacity planning and cross-functional collaboration across a global enterprise.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of IT project/program management experience (5+ in people leadership highly preferred).
• Proven track record managing large IT programs and evolving a PMO from execution-focused to value-driven.
• Experience with Planview is preferred but not required.
• Experience designing front-end governance or shift-left processes (pre-project sizing, demand shaping, capacity management).
• Strong relationship-building and senior-stakeholder influence; leadership in coaching and talent development.

• Predictive PMO Enablement: drive adoption of Planview and AI-driven insights for proactive decisions.
• Talent Leadership & Workforce Coaching: upskill and mentor project managers; develop critical thinking and collaboration.
• Upstream Demand Shaping: drive shift-left processes to ensure work is well-scoped before execution.
• Empowered Truth & Accountability: foster a high-trust PMO culture, elevate risks and dependencies.
• Executive Risk & Resource Stewardship: partner with leadership on risks, dependencies, and resources.
• Vendor Accountability & Value Management: manage technology investments and vendor performance.
• Strategic Influence & Negotiation: align diverse stakeholders and maintain positive relationships.
