Job summary

Five Below is seeking an Interim Support Lead to ensure an outstanding shopping experience while assisting with front-end operations, cash handling, merchandising, cleanliness, and safety across our store.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will assume Manager on Duty duties during shifts, train and mentor associates, drive sales, manage opening/closing procedures, and collaborate with the leadership team to keep the store running smoothly and guest-focused.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• College experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Creative thinking.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all crew members are WOWing the Customer through personal contact with customers.
• Trains the crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience; ensuring that each guest has a fast, friendly checkout experience.
• Oversee the daily activities of all store associates, ensuring they are performing duties effectively and providing excellent customer service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock to quickly place items on the sales floor.
• Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues.
• Manage opening/closing the store process, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring a smooth operation.
• Occasionally manage opening/closing to ensure smooth daily operation.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates on store policies, product knowledge, and procedures.
• Drive store sales and control expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Partner with store leadership on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance such as cleaning, stock room upkeep, and trash removal.
