Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring accurate setup of services. You will work closely with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate insurance, verify eligibility, and move the intake process forward efficiently.

This detail-oriented role involves patient communication, cross-team collaboration, and adherence to payer requirements in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or Associate’s degree in related fields.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, or call center is preferred but not required.
• Experience in healthcare organization, pharmacy, HME, medical supply, or Medicare-certified environment is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail; ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Review eligibility and payer requirements from medical records and documentation.
• Explain financial responsibilities to patients and document interactions.
• Request missing documentation from patients and provide options to ensure timely care.
• Collaborate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient information in electronic systems and enter referrals timely.
• Coordinate inventory and services with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Assist sales, insurance verification, and internal support to facilitate referrals and intake processes.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems to manage documentation.
