Kin is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to draft policy language for aggressive state and product expansion. You will anchor a line (personal auto or property), serve as a drafting owner, and advise on form wording during DOI audits and market conduct exams.

You'll research statutes, draft filing-ready forms, and review AI-assisted drafts for compliance. This remote-first role offers growth as Kin scales across states and products.

Qualifications

• JD and 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience reading state statutes and regulations and converting requirements into policy language.
• Experience drafting responses to regulator objections on form filings.
• Experience advising business stakeholders on coverage interpretation and policy wording.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate them into compliant, clear policy wording.
• Draft responses to Department of Insurance objections on forms and advocate for Kin's position with regulators.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation and form wording to internal partners.
• Draft complete new state and product forms packages for your line of business, ready for filing.
• Perform first-pass legal review of forms and escalate novel state law questions to Senior Insurance Counsel.
• Build and maintain countrywide base forms and reusable state kit for your line of business.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language to speed future state packages.
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms, coverage interpretation, and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
