Job summary

Wesco in Ashland, VA is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to engage with existing customers, increase sales of company products and services, and to upsell opportunities.

You will process orders by phone and email, collaborate with outside sales, and identify opportunities to improve processes. This role offers commission in addition to base salary and requires 2–4 years of sales experience.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of sales experience; fully productive contributor.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; attention to detail.
• Ability to prospect and market concepts to existing and potentially new accounts.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and enter orders via email and phone; explain stock-outs and delivery dates.
• Upsell by suggesting related items and leveraging customer history.
• Own and develop opportunities from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Prepare quotes and follow up to secure orders or analyze losses.
• Review open orders and manage items at risk of missing delivery dates.
• Maintain backorder and expediting reports and customer notifications.
• Provide feedback on industry trends, pricing, and customer needs to management.
