Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Inside Auto Appraiser to virtually inspect damaged vehicles, estimate repair costs, and determine actual cash value for settlements. You will partner with direct repair shops and claim teams to ensure timely, fair resolutions while maintaining high service standards.

The ideal candidate has an auto physical damage appraisal background, an active adjuster license, and proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Active adjuster license, where applicable.
• Two years of auto physical damage appraisal experience.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review vehicle damage via virtual inspections and assess losses.
• Prepare repair estimates for parts, labor, and materials.
• Evaluate total losses to determine actual cash value.
• Negotiate with body shops, customers, and third parties.
• Identify pre-existing damage and potential fraud indicators.
• Coordinate with repair partners and claim teams to resolve issues.
• Explain the appraisal process to customers and keep them informed.
• Adapt to new technology and digital tools, including AI.
• May deploy to on-site inspections as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
