Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a seasoned Inpatient Coder to review complex documentation and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes. You will ensure compliance with guidelines and support accurate reimbursements.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of inpatient coding experience in acute care, with CDI collaboration and strong attention to detail. Remote option available for approved states; full-time, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Experience with clinical documentation improvement and revenue cycle workflows.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign diagnoses and procedures.
• Ensure correct code selection following coding guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain high quality and productivity to meet department targets.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to reconcile DRGs and ensure accurate reimbursements.
• Participate in payer audits and coding-related meetings.
