Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to assign diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS for complex cases. You will follow coding guidelines, ensure compliance, and work with CDI and Quality teams to align DRG outcomes.

The role requires seven years of inpatient coding experience in acute care and an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management, with AAPC/AHIMA certification preferred. Full-time, 40 hours weekly, onsite or remote options available.

Qualificações

• Advanced proficiency in ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Excellent command of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and email.
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure correct code selection per Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards (≥95%).
• Code high-dollar and long-stay cases across patient types.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to align DRG.
• Stay current with coding guidelines through ongoing education.
