Qualifications

• One year inpatient coding experience or completion of Houston Methodist coding programs.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and AHIMA guidelines.
• Experience with electronic medical records and diagnostic coding processes.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate inpatient codes based on documentation in the EMR.
• Query physicians to obtain or clarify diagnoses/procedures as needed.
• Maintain coding quality and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with coding team and stakeholders to ensure timely coding.
