Houston Methodist is seeking an Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient encounters based on documentation in the EMR, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will hold RHIT/RHIA/CCS certification, have CAHIIM-accredited education or equivalent experience, and at least one year of inpatient coding experience or completion of our Coding Apprentice Program.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a CAHIIM-accredited program, or equivalent experience
• One year inpatient coding experience or completion of Houston Methodist Coding Apprentice Program
• RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification will be required

Responsabilités

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient encounters based on medical record documentation
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines
• Query physicians to obtain or clarify diagnoses when needed
