Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate’s degree or higher in a CAHIIM accredited program or equivalent experience.
• One year of inpatient coding experience or completion of Houston Methodist Coding Apprentice Program or transition program.
• AHIMA certification required: RHIT, RHIA, or CCS.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient encounters based on documentation.
• Ensure coding compliance with regulatory guidelines and hospital policies.
• Interact with care teams to obtain clarifications via physician queries when needed.
