Job summary

The coder will interact with physicians for queries, uphold data quality, and support department standards for productivity and accuracy within the Epic EHR environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in a CAHIIM accredited program or equivalent experience
• One year of inpatient coding experience or completion of Coding Apprentice/Transition Program
• Knowledge of coding guidelines and AHIMA standards
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR and coding software

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient encounters accurately
• Collaborate with physicians to obtain clarifications via queries
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory standards
• Maintain quality and productivity in coding and abstraction
