Job summary

Local Infusion is seeking an Insurance & Intake Coordinator—an "Infusion Guide"—to elevate infusion therapy and coordinate referrals, authorizations, and benefits with a focus on patient and physician service.

This full-time, onsite role is based at our New Haven center, with a M-F, 8:00am - 4:30pm schedule. The ideal candidate has prior medical chart review and insurance pre-authorization experience.

Qualifications

• Health care experience required.
• Infusion experience preferred.
• Insurance prior authorization experience needed.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with medical insurance processes.
• Able to quickly grasp new applications.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).

Responsibilities

• Handle infusion referral process, obtain authorizations, assist with financial counseling and benefit investigations.
• Liaise with referring providers to obtain documentation and communicate status.
• Explain referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric way.
• Coordinate with referring/prescribing providers.
• Help maintain medical inventory and office supplies.
• Participate in a dedicated 6-week training plan.
