Job summary

Local Infusion is seeking an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, an “Infusion Guide,” to elevate patient care in infusion therapy. This full-time, on-site role in Thomaston, ME emphasizes coordination, patient communication, and collaboration with referring providers.

The Infusion Guide will manage authorizations, financial counseling, and benefit investigations, ensuring high-quality patient experiences with predictable weekday hours.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience required.
• Infusion experience preferred.
• Experience with insurance prior authorizations.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
• Ability to quickly grasp new apps.

Responsibilities

• Handle infusion referral process including authorizations and financial counseling.
• Coordinate with referring providers to obtain documentation and communicate status.
• Explain referral process and status clearly to patients.
• Communicate with referring/prescribing providers.
• Assist in maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
• Complete a structured 6-week training plan.
