Job summary

Local Infusion is seeking an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, an "Infusion Guide," to improve patient care in infusion therapy. You will coordinate referrals, authorizations, and financial counseling while delivering superior service to patients and referring providers.

The role is full-time and onsite in Plainview, NY, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with a mentorship and six-week training program to ensure success. Prior infusion exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience reading medical charts and handling insurance pre-authorizations.
• Healthcare experience required.
• Infusion experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Handle all steps of the infusion referral process, including authorizations, financial counseling, and benefit investigation.
• Liaise with referring providers to obtain documentation and communicate status.
• Communicate referral processes and status to patients in a customer-centric way.
• Coordinate with referring/prescribing providers to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assist with maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
• Complete a dedicated 6-week training plan to support success.
