Job summary

AdvanSix in Virginia Beach is seeking an Instrumentation-Electrical (I&E) Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain instrument and electrical systems, motor controls, power supplies and PLCs in a manufacturing environment. You will read schematics, troubleshoot AC/DC drives, install and service PLC/DCS hardware, and perform preventive maintenance while adhering to safety and company standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in industrial electrical/electronic technology or related field.
• Five years of industrial Instrumentation-Electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to read/interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation drawings and schematics.
• Demonstrated knowledge of PLCs and CNCs.
• Knowledge of 480 Volt MCC and power distribution systems.
• Basic programming knowledge to understand code and troubleshoot.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot critical equipment on failure.
• Diagnose and repair AC/DC motors and control circuits.
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation drawings.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC and/or DCS hardware, software and controls.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Operate and maintain high voltage distribution systems and MCCs.
