Job summary
AdvanSix is seeking an Instrument Mechanic to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems at our Virginia facility. You will work with PLC/DCS, sensors, transmitters, and valves, reading P&IDs and schematics, performing calibrations, and maintaining documentation to ensure 24/7 operations.
The role requires an Associate Degree in Instrumentation or 2 years of related experience in a chemical/industrial environment, strong troubleshooting skills, and the
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Instrumentation.
- Or 2 years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls installation, troubleshooting, and repair in a Chemical Plant, Refinery, or similar Industrial environment
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, etc.
- Knowledge of instrumentation design, selection, repair techniques and performance assessment
- Well-rounded field experience applying good engineering practices to instrumentation repair work for a variety of typical process plant equipment
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual with proven success working independently and in a multi-functional team environment
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems.
- Work with PLC/DCS, sensors, transmitters, and valves.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and manuals.
- Perform instrument calibrations and preventive maintenance.
- Support planning, ordering parts, and documentation.
