Job summary

AdvanSix is seeking an Instrumentation-Electrical (I&E) Technician in Newport News, VA. The role focuses on diagnosing, servicing, and maintaining instrument and electrical systems, motors, PLCs, and control hardware across facilities.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting critical equipment, applying electrical codes, reading schematics, and performing preventive maintenance. A strong background in PLC/DCS and safety is essential in a fast-paced, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in industrial electrical/electronic technology or equivalent.
• Five years of industrial instrumentation-electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to read electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and systems; diagnose faults quickly.
• Maintain and repair PLC and DCS hardware and controls.
• Repair motors and power distribution systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and safety checks.
• Read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings and manuals.
