Job summary

AdvanSix in Portsmouth, VA is seeking an Instrumentation-Electrical Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain instrument and electrical systems, PLCs, and power distribution. The role supports safe, reliable operation across our plant facilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree in industrial electrical/electronic technology and 5 years of maintenance experience, with strong PLC/DCS and reading of electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in industrial electrical/electronic technology or similar certification.
• Five years industrial experience in Instrumentation-Electrical Maintenance.
• Ability to read/interpret various drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting of critical equipment upon failure
• Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLC and/or DCS hardware, software and controls
• Maintain 480/240 Volt MCC and Power Distribution Systems
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
• Read/interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation drawings
