Job summary

AdvanSix in Virginia, Hampton, is seeking an Instrumentation-Electrical (I&E) Technician. You will diagnose, service, and replace instrument and electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, and control hardware across a high-availability plant.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting critical equipment, reading schematics, installing and maintaining PLC/DCS hardware, and performing preventive maintenance while adhering to safety and company policies. Requires strong technical skills and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or similar certification in industrial electrical/electronic tech.
• Five years of instrumentation-electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to read/interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic drawings.
• Demonstrated knowledge of PLCs and CNCs.
• English proficiency and good communication skills.
• Willingness to work in a high voltage industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot critical equipment upon failure.
• Read/Interpret Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic schematics.
• Install, troubleshoot, maintain PLC and/or DCS hardware and controls.
• Maintain 480/240 Volt MCC and Power Distribution Systems.
• Perform Preventive and Predictive maintenance.
• Move and set up equipment as needed.
