Job summary

Granite Construction seeks a civil engineering professional to provide technical engineering and cost information to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards.

This role supports job controls, interpretation of drawings, and collaboration with on-site teams to keep projects on schedule and within budget, using MS Office and AGTEK Take-off. The position offers opportunities to develop estimates, change orders, and cost analysis for diverse infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction estimating support, engineering, or field support.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AGTEK Take-off.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for craft workers.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation such as status reports and punch lists.
• Provide technical support for project material controls to minimize costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates.
• Develop data for quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs, and equipment for estimates.
• Research historical data to compile summary reports for future estimates.
• May supervise, direct, and mentor project staff to ensure development and standards.
