Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an entry-level estimator to provide technical engineering and cost data to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards. The role requires interpreting drawings, preparing drawings and quantity take-offs, and supporting the estimating process to maintain accuracy and bids.

Ideal candidates have a civil engineering or related background, with up to 2 years in estimation support, and solid skills in MS Office and take-off software.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of construction equipment and drawings/specifications.
• Ability to perform trigonometric calculations manually or with a calculator.
• Ability to take responsibility and communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret drawings for crafts to ensure specifications are followed.
• Research and propose resolutions to drawing issues and code compliance.
• Prepare and disseminate status reports, punch lists, and material calculations for accuracy.
• Provide project material controls support to minimize costs and meet schedules.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
