Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an experienced estimator to support construction projects across the United States. The role involves assisting with controls for contract, budget, schedule, forecasting, and job costing, and interpreting drawings for craft workers to meet specifications.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field, and 2+ years of construction estimating support or similar

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Scheduling and AGTEK Take-off software experience.
• Reading and interpreting drawings, codes, and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and standards.
• Ability to perform trigometric calculations and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with controls for contract, budget, schedule, forecasting, and job costing.
• Interpret designs/drawings for craft workers to ensure specs are followed.
• Coordinate with on-site departments to resolve issues and maintain schedule.
• Investigate drawing interpretation issues to ensure adherence to codes and specs.
• Prepare records such as status reports, punch lists, and material estimates for supervisors.
• Provide material control guidance to minimize extra costs and align with schedules.
• Draft drawings for change orders and estimates to fit evolving requirements.
• Produce building control lines/elevations for accurate installation.
