Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a civil engineer/estimating professional to provide technical engineering and cost information, ensuring work complies with engineering standards. You will support controls, interpret drawings, and liaise with on-site teams to meet project schedules and budgets.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience, proficiency in MS Office and AGTEK Take-off, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of training and experience.
• 2+ years in construction estimating support, engineering, or field support.
• Proficiency with MS Office and take-off software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret drawings for craft workers to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation issues to ensure compliance with codes and specs.
• Prepare documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, and material calculations.
• Provide material controls guidance to minimize additional costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support changes, orders and estimates.
• Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate installation.
• Develop data for estimates and bids including quantities, prices and labor.
• Research historical data to develop guidelines for future estimates.
• May supervise and mentor project staff to uphold standards.
• Represent company in client and project management meetings.
