Job summary

DABS, Inc. seeks a caring Skills Instructor to work directly with adults who have developmental disabilities, guiding them to gain practical skills for independence through community activities and supported employment readiness.

You will plan engaging activities, accompany clients on outings, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, respectful, and person-centered support. We offer flexible full/part-time roles, and competitive starting pay.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver9s license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Willingness to undergo state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR certification and TB test required or obtainable through us.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning engaging activities, and strengthening their skill sets.
• Take individuals on community outings204whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day.
• Track and document progress, capturing accurate and concise case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
