Job summary

DABS, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Skills Instructor to work directly with adults who have developmental disabilities. You will coach clients to build essential life skills and promote community integration, using evidence-based strategies and compassionate, person-centered care.

Responsibilities include teaching daily living skills, supporting positive behaviors, ensuring safety, and documenting progress. We offer day hours, both full- and part-time roles, mileage reimbursement, and growth

Qualifications

Experience with behavioral intervention techniques to support adults with developmental disabilities.
CPR certification and TB test may be required; training provided if needed.
Willingness to undergo state and federal fingerprint background check.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with personal vehicle and insurance.

Responsibilities

Provide person-centered instruction to build daily living and social skills.
Use evidence-based strategies (e.g., ABA) to teach coping skills and address behavioral needs.
Ensure safety and health of clients across home, vehicle, and community settings; manage crises as needed.
Engage clients to promote healthy social interactions with peers and community.
Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, incidents, and shift logs.
