Job summary

DABS, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Skills Instructor to empower adults with developmental disabilities to gain independence through person-centered instruction and community activities.

You will guide clients toward employment readiness, education, and meaningful participation in their communities. You’ll accompany individuals on outings, document progress, manage challenges with positive approaches, and collaborate with a professional team.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus; training is provided.
• Willingness to undergo state and federal background checks.
• CPR certification and TB test are required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning engaging activities, and strengthening their skill sets.
• Take individuals on community outings—appointments, errands, or leisure.
• Track and document progress with accurate case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
