Job summary

DABS, Inc. is seeking a Skills Instructor to work directly with adults with developmental disabilities, helping them build essential skills for employment, education, and community engagement.

You will lead person-centered activities and support participants in navigating daily tasks to increase independence. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compliance, with a supportive environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must have a caring heart and commitment to helping others.
• Must be willing to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a TB test are required (assistance available if needed).

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources and planning activities.
• Take individuals on community outings for appointments, errands, or recreation.
• Track and document progress with accurate case notes.
• Redirect challenging behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
