Job summary

DABS, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Skills Instructor to work with adults with developmental disabilities in community settings, helping them build essential skills for employment, education, and community participation, promoting greater independence.

You will document progress, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and support participants in accessing resources while maintaining dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• Caring and committed to helping others live with dignity.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR certification and TB test (training can be provided if needed).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources and planning engaging activities.
• Take individuals on community outings for appointments, errands, or leisure.
• Track and document progress with accurate case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
