Job summary

DABS, Inc. provides comprehensive skills training and supported living services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, since 2005. We empower individuals to lead more independent lives through advocacy, innovation, and unwavering commitment.

Join us as a Skills Instructor to work directly with adults with developmental disabilities, helping them cultivate essential skills for employment, volunteering, education, and community participation to achieve greater independence.

Qualifications

• Driver's license, reliable transportation to and from work.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning engaging activities, and strengthening their skill sets.
• Take individuals on community outings—whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day.
• Track and document progress, capturing accurate and concise case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
