Job summary

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama is seeking an incoming Mail Lead to provide operational leadership for inbound mailroom activities. You will oversee workflow, service levels, and accuracy, while coordinating receipt, processing, distribution, and tracking of mail and packages.

You will train staff, resolve issues, collaborate with vendors, and support process improvement initiatives. This on-site role is essential and requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience researching and analyzing data and preparing reports
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
• Experience interacting with all levels of internal staff with minimal supervision
• Experience adapting to changes and collaborating across lines of business activities
• Experience diagnosing problems and recommending solutions
• Valid US driver's license
• Willingness to lift weights of up to 50lbs. frequently
• Bachelor's Degree or in lieu of a degree, 5 years of relevant experience specifically in mailroom operations and a production driven environment meeting timeliness and accuracy goals is strongly preferred
• Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound mailroom operations, daily workflow, and service levels.
• Coordinate receipt, processing, distribution, and tracking of mail and packages.
• Assign and monitor work; train and support team members.
• Serve as primary contact for operational issues and work with internal partners and vendors.
• Backup essential mailroom functions and participate in special projects.
