Sur La Table is seeking a Pastry Chef Instructor to lead in-store pastry classes, share advanced techniques, and inspire customers. You will teach hands-on baking sessions, maintain high culinary standards, and promote related bakeware and decorating tools during classes.

Ideal candidates have culinary training or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for teaching and community engagement.

Qualifications

• 21+ years old at time of employment.
• Degree in culinary arts preferred; extensive culinary experience considered in lieu of formal education.
• 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table by delivering memorable pastry-focused classes and demonstrations.
• Explain technical pastry concepts clearly to students and adapt to different learning paces.
• Drive class revenue and promote retail items used in classes.
• Maintain class setup, mise en place, cleanliness, and inventory for smooth operation.
