Job summary

ADT is seeking a Smart Home Consultant to design and install residential security systems. You will conduct in-home consultations, assess customer needs, and recommend integrated security and IoT solutions.

You’ll activate systems, educate customers on the app and features, and ensure the solution fits their home setup. Join a team focused on protecting what customers value most, with hands-on installation, consultative sales, and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; licensing may be location dependent.
• Strong customer-focused communication skills.
• Technical aptitude with smart devices and connected tech.
• Ability to understand how multiple products interact within a home network.
• Advise customers on optimal system design for safety goals.
• Continuous learner who adapts to new tools and technologies.
• Able to climb, lift 10+ pounds, and work indoors/outdoors in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-home consultations and assessments.
• Recommend smart home and security solutions based on customer goals.
• Install and activate security hardware, cameras, IoT devices, and smart home products.
• Integrate new products with the customer’s existing setup.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical questions.
• Complete customer onboarding and product education.
• Build long-term customer confidence through proactive support.
• Identify upsell opportunities that strengthen home protection.
