Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist (Medical Scribe) to support primary care providers with real-time documentation during patient visits. You’ll observe, document, and summarize encounters, ensuring accurate coding and timely after-visit summaries while learning Oak Street Health’s value-based care model.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications from pre-medical studies or clinical experience.
• Prior clinical experience including shadowing or volunteering is preferred.
• Prior scribe or transcription experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn new workflows and adapt to changing processes.

Responsibilities

• Documenting patient encounters in a structured note with history, assessment, plan and exam.
• Assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes and preparing after-visit summaries.
• Supporting clinical documentation improvement and coordinating with the provider.
