Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist (Medical Scribe) to support primary care providers with real-time documentation, coding, and after-visit summaries. You will observe visits, document encounters, and help close care gaps while aligning with value-based care goals.

This full-time role requires medical terminology knowledge, clinical exposure, strong typing, and the ability to work 40 hours per week in clinic settings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience (shadowing/volunteering) preferred.
• Prior scribe or transcription experience is preferred.
• Advanced listening and communication skills required.
• Ability to type 70+ words per minute.
• Fluency in additional languages is valued where indicated.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in structured notes (history, assessment, plan, exam).
• Join providers in exam rooms to observe visits.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support clinical documentation improvement and care coordination.
