Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers by documenting patient encounters in real time and ensuring accurate clinical documentation. You will learn value-based care, medical coding, and how to close care gaps while working closely with a care team.

This is a full-time position requiring in-person clinic presence, with extensive on-the-job training and opportunities to grow in health informatics or related fields.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience or shadowing experience preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience helpful but not required.
• Must be able to type 70+ wpm and work well in a team with providers.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real time with structured notes.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support clinical documentation improvement and review medical records.
• Perform administrative tasks and coordinate with the care team.
