Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers by documenting patient encounters in real time and ensuring accurate coding for CPT and ICD-10. The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong listening, and collaboration with the care team in a fast-paced clinic.

The ideal candidate has medical terminology knowledge, clinical exposure, and strong computer skills, with multilingual abilities valued to serve diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications (required).
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing/volunteering (preferred).
• Scribe or transcription experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in structured notes with history, assessment, plan, and exam.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support clinical documentation improvement through records review and population health tools.
• Provide administrative support to the care team and manage related tasks.
• Adhere to HIPAA and clinic policies; commit to full-time schedule.
