Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level, paid, full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary, middle, and high school. AmeriCorps members will coach and mentor students, track progress, and collaborate with teachers on classroom activities to boost attendance and achievement.

Training is provided, with a focus on literacy, math, behavior management, and student development. This role emphasizes teamwork with school staff and ongoing engagement with families.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching/mentoring is helpful but training is provided.
• Strong willingness to work with diverse students and staff.
• Ability to support academic coaching and student development.
• Be prepared to engage with families and school partners.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skill development with varied activities.
• Help implement behavior management strategies in classrooms.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
• Contribute to planning engaging, safe, and inclusive classroom spaces.
