Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is hiring entry-level, full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor roles. You will coach and mentor students to improve academic performance and attendance, partnering with teachers to support classroom instruction and student growth.

Training is provided; you will work with schools to plan activities, monitor progress and encourage positive behaviors. A strong chance to contribute to communities through education and service.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring elementary, middle and/or high school students.
• Plan and monitor student progress; plan instructional supports.
• Support teachers with classroom instruction and student assistance.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities tailored to student level; encourage assignment completion.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies for students.
• Foster interpersonal skills through structured activities and reflection.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and analyze student progress data in City Year system.
• Create engaging, safe, and productive classroom spaces with teachers.
