Job summary

Math Corps is seeking a Math Tutor to work in local schools, helping students build math skills and confidence. We'll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step. Typically you'll tutor groups of up to 3 students for 20-30 minutes, with daily sessions Monday through Friday during the school year.

Part-time roles are available at 20 hours per week. AmeriCorps members receive a stipend and benefits, including health insurance and education benefits.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer skills (email and online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
