Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred; HS Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum experience in a social service environment, state or local government preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented and organized.
• Experience as a Case Manager or Eligibility Specialist is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for all relevant assistance programs with clients face-to-face or by phone.
• Verify information and ensure it meets state policies.
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verify income, assets, and other financial/legal documents.
• Explain program requirements to clients and guide them through processes.
• Use automated systems to determine eligibility for state programs.
• Enter data into state databases accurately.
• Respond to inquiries by phone or email in a timely manner.
