Job summary

Knowledge Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist in Indianapolis to assist in processing applications for public assistance programs such as TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid. You will gather data, verify documents, and determine eligibility in collaboration with the DFR.

This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and experience in a social service environment. Training provided; standard 37.5-hour week with benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data entry.
• Experience in customer service and case management.
• Independent worker with reliability and initiative.
• 2 years in a social service environment is desired.
• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred; HS diploma acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data for all relevant assistance programs with clients.
• Verifies information meets state policies.
• Obtains release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verifies income, assets and other documents.
• Explains regulations and program requirements to clients.
• Uses automated systems to determine eligibility for state programs.
• Performs data entry into state database.
• Responds to inquiries by phone or email in a timely manner.
