Job summary

Knowledge Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to assist Indiana residents with public assistance programs (TANF, SNAP, Medicaid) in Spencer, Indiana. The role involves data gathering, verification, and entry into state systems, with an emphasis on accuracy and customer service.

You will join a team supporting the Division of Family Resources, participate in an extensive training program, and work a 37.5-hour work week Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree preferred in Counseling or Social Services; HS diploma acceptable.
• 2 years' experience in a social service environment, state or local government desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data for all relevant assistance programs face-to-face or by phone.
• Verify information meets state policies.
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verify income, assets, and other financial documents.
• Review regulations and program requirements with clients.
• Use automated program to determine eligibility for state assistance programs.
• Data entry into state database.
• Respond to inquiries by phone or email.
