Job summary

Knowledge Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to assist Indiana residents with public assistance programs such as TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid. The role involves data gathering, verification of documents, and data entry in state systems, with a focus on accuracy and customer service.

The position emphasizes independent work, strong communication skills, and a commitment to serving the community. Training is provided and pay is $16.50/hr, with a standard 37.5-hour week and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in social services or related field.
• Bachelor or associate degree preferred; HS diploma acceptable.
• 2 years’ experience in social service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for all relevant assistance programs either face-to-face or via phone with clients.
• Verify all information is gathered accurately and meets state policies.
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verify income, assets, and other financial / legal documents.
• Review regulations and program requirements with clients.
• Utilize automated program to determine eligibility of state assistance programs.
• Data entry into state database.
• Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner via phone or email.
