Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking an Executive Director to lead day-to-day operations at the Barco, NC location. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, oversee membership, programs, and facilities, and foster community relations to advance the YMCA’s mission.

You will champion fundraising through the Annual Giving Campaign, develop staff and volunteers, and build partnerships with local organizations while modeling the YMCA's values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Qualifications

• Strong business operations background with a proven track record for producing growth, annual giving and strong financial management.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Human Services, Business Management, or equivalent.
• Five or more years of successful management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit in health & wellness, business or related field.
• Supervision of full and part-time employees and accountability for annual budget exceeding $1 million.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the assigned YMCA location, including membership engagement and retention, aquatic and sports programming, youth and family programs, and teen programming.
• Lead Annual Giving Campaign and fundraising initiatives.
• Board and staff development and leadership; supervise exempt and non-exempt staff.
